Dalia Vainer is genuinely very funny, generous and a dedicated volunteer. She’s even performed a Funnies show on her own birthday! If she’s not onstage making us laugh, you can find her making friends with all the kids in the audience. We’ve seen so many young audience members drawn to her charm and friendliness.

We asked Dalia Vainer a few questions so you can all get to know this great gal!.

1. What is your favourite thing about volunteering with Funnies?

I’m in love with it all- the belly laughs, the silly suggestions, my fellow volunteers, the joy that fills the room and most of all, the incredible, resilient families.

2. What do you do outside of volunteering?

I work for a tech startup in Dallas and get to collab with some super awesome people. I’m also really into Words with Friends right now and just set a new personal highest-scoring word (74 pts)

3. What is a family tradition you love?

My mom and I love to bake these delicious family recipe Onion Pies during the holidays – they’re born out of Soviet Russia when my family couldn’t afford much food and played around with caramelized cheap onions. They’re legendary and I’m trying to convince my mom to open a small business.

4. What is the best thing about spring?

Running! And wineries! And running through wineries!

5. Who are your favourite comedians? Let’s say top three. Local or beyond.

The entire Toronto Improv Community, my silly Father and my dearest, closest and most beloved friend of mine, Amy Poehler.
