Our hilarious and highly-trained comedian volunteers have studied comedy performance at schools and theatres all across Canada and the United States. Specific places include Second City, UCB, Rapid Fire Theatre, Humber College, and more.
Most of the comedians who volunteer with funnies also perform comedy in venues around Toronto. As well, many are featured on TV and movies.
Funnies for Families performs free comedy for vulnerable populations – like patients in hospitals or families at care centers. Unfortunately, a school doesn’t really fall into that category.
However, Funnies is also available for hire! We will travel to do a private comedy show for your event (or school). Proceeds go toward our goal of bringing laughs to families who need them most, so you get to see a great show and support a cause.

Short answer: Yes!
Funnies for Families performs free comedy for vulnerable populations. Although, a birthday party doesn’t really fall into that category, Funnies is also available for hire!

The majority of our donation spending is used on transportation to get our volunteer comedians to places where families are staying while going through their toughest times – like children’s hospitals and women’s shelters.
Other expenses include merchandise like t-shirts for volunteers and recurring administrative costs (such as running this website!)
